Bio: Chris McCurry
Chris McCurry has been self-employed since 1988 through the ownership and operation of several service/construction related entities. McCurry is a licensed general contractor in the State of Georgia and is President and CEO of Meridian Development and Construction Services, Inc.
Meridian Development was formed in 2008 for the express purpose to perform construction, leasing and management services for Riverstone Village, The Commons at Riverstone Village and Riverstone Professional Building and is owned 100% by McCurry. Meridian Development also provides third party services in the form of General Contracting and Construction Management for off-site medical buildings, ambulatory surgical centers, clinical interior finishes, other tenant improvements as well as residential home construction.
Prior to forming Meridian Development, McCurry was responsible for the design, development, vertical construction and ownership of the Riverstone Village retail development, The Commons at Riverstone Village medical office park and Riverstone Professional Building, a professional office building. The completed projects represent a real estate portfolio consisting of approximately 120,000 square feet of space which continues to be owned, operated, leased and managed by McCurry through Meridian Development and Construction Services, Inc.
Prior to his development of his properties in Riverstone, McCurry served as a general contractor building single family residential homes throughout Cherokee County in the northern suburbs of Atlanta from 1995 to 1999.
McCurry began his career as a business owner in the construction industry in 1988 by starting Southern Scaffold, an industrial scaffolding company specializing in providing scaffolding to large industrial projects and sold this company in 1994 for $1.65 million to Allwaste, Inc., a publicly traded company.
As early as his teenage years, McCurry worked performing miscellaneous jobs in the residential construction field to pay for college and in 1982 while still in college began working for a NDE (non-destructive examination) company which serviced the pulp and paper, power generation and petro chemical industries.
McCurry has over 35 years of experience in development and construction of residential, industrial and commercial real estate projects. He attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
